Java plug-in does not work in .zip installer. I also have tested this with my
own build with a .zip installer. Firefox has a .reg patch for their .zip
installer. I think there should be one for SeaMonkey

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to a java enabled site.
Actual Results:
The Java plug-in does not load.

Expected Results:
Offered a .reg file to fix this bug and make Java plug-in work.
Don't you need to put some DLL files in your plugins dir for Java to work?

Summary: Java plug-in does not work in .zip installer → Java plug-in does not work with .zip builds
Version: unspecified → Trunk
When I install or update Java, I need to copy the Java plugin files from the
Mozilla plugin directory to the SeaMonkey plugin directory. I'm using the
*installer* for SeaMonkey build 2005091013 from the Gecko 1.8 branch on Windows
XP SP2. This may be a Tech Evangelism bug for Sun to update the Java installer
to install the plugin files in SeaMonkey, as it does for Mozilla.

That's what I thought, too. I deleted all the Java DLL files from the plugins
directory, but Java applets still work. Maybe the problem can be fixed by
deleting those files, if they exist.
This problem seems be be resolved with the advice given.
