User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4 I just added the extension: NoScript and was testing it on the Yahoo site, specifically, Mail. I got a series of blocked javascripts which I activated and the Yahoo site would not acknowledge; so, I closed the browser. I tried to restart and failed; I tried to bring up the browser in safe mode and failed. I had to restore the system to a safepoint; bring up the browser, un-install NoScript to restore normal operation. Now some of this may simply be a lack of understanding about the NoScript functionality but it should NEVER stop bringing up the Browser in safe mode. Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce Expected Results: Nothing should interfer with bringing up the Browser in safe mode, NOTHING.

Are you sure you were starting in safe-mode correctly? Did you have an instance of firefox.exe running when you tried to start it in safe-mode.

Comments from reporter in an e-mail: "There were no instances of firefox.exe running at the time that the system was showing." ... "After thinking about this for a moment, even if there was a version of firefox.exe still in execution, starting Safe Mode should have shut down all instances which would block that IMPERATIVE."

In nightly builds you get a message that firefox is already running if not mistaken
