With a new profile i got under Tools-Read Mail the Message i have 15? new Messages.

When i click on "Read Mail" nothing happenend. Either
Thunderbird/SeaMonkey/Outlook2003 won`t open when set as standard mail client.

I got a Error in the Firefox JS Console:

The New Message Funktion works without problems.

It`s reproducible on this XP SP2 System, but not on another W2k Sp4 System.

I don't see any problems using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US;
rv:1.7.9) Gecko/20050706 Firefox/1.0.5 and having Thunderbird as my default
email client.  When I go to Tools->Read Mail, Thunderbird is either launched if
it's not running or the app is brought into focus it it's already started.  That
is with my current profile.  I'm going to create a new one and try again.

Cc'ing a couple of folks that might be able to figure out what's going on here.

Still unable to reproduce with a new profile.  I am also on a WinXP SP2 system.

Carsten:  Anything you can think of that is unique to your system that might be
causing problems?

I tested this again with an other User Account on this System and it works fine.
Maybe this Error was caused by the Mailprogramm/Windows User Profile or whatever :-)

I Think this is Invalid, because can not reproduce this Error with other System
UserProfiles or Systems

No one else has been able to reproduce this and even the reporter says it's not
a consistent bug.  Verifying as invalid.

okay, done a little Research on this Problem and found the follwing:

The first problem (the Display with 15 new Mails) was caused by a broken
Seamonkey Profile it seems.

Then "Read Mail" doesn`t launched because of this. After i had Seamonkey/Mozilla
Suite uninstalled and (deleted my Suite Profiles) it worked fine with Thunderbird.

There seems also a Probleme with the Registry on this Maschine, so this
definitely not a Firefox Bug :-) Jay, thanks for help
