This is a major pain for trying to backup your old emails. I've read some hacks that let you copy and paste your entire profile, but what if you just need the emails? I have a user that changed computers recently and needs to get all of her old emails back on her new machine. If I do the profile copy trick, she will lose all of her current emails, or ones she has recieved since the switch. Thunderbird allows me to save a single email message to a file, but I have around 100 I need to back up. There should be a File->Backup (or export or something?) option that will allow you to save all of your old emails for such an instance as I'm sure it will be fairly common in the future. This happened on version 1.0.2 of TB on WinXP going from TB to TB on different machines. If this is a dupe, sorry...I looked. And if there is an easy work around for this please let me know. Thanks Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
if I understand you correctly, there's an easy work-around. Create a new local folder, copy those 100 e-mail to that local folder all at once, and then backup the local folder.
