page never completes loading / spinning beachball forever

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.type address http://www.amazon.com
2.wait forever
3.forever is about ten minutes..

Actual Results:  
spinning beach ball / never completes loading

Expected Results:  
I expect the page to load in less than ten minutes...

safari loads ok,Internet Explorer 5.2 loads OK, Camino waits forever, FireFox
waits forever.

I see this occasionally too (on different sites) with Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6.

A browser restart usually solves it. Unfortunately I haven't been able to nail it down to reproducible steps.
