Details

Steps to reproduce problem:
1. Enable chrome protocol in advanced system preferences
2. Open Windows Run dialog (or use the start command from a command prompt)
3. Enter in a chrome URL

Expected results: URL opens in a chrome window

Actual results: Various Windows error messages

Once Windows actually told me that the protocol was not registered.
