User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050704 Firefox/1.0+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050704 Firefox/1.0+ I am set to open all new windows in a new tab, but this does not necessarily happen. If you click a link, it often opens in the SAME tab, not a new one. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.Click a link 2.See if it opens in a new window 3.OR, type a web addy in the menu bar, will overwrite your current tab, not open a new one Actual Results: sometimes a new window, often the same one. Expected Results: Set to ALWAYS open in new tab

I am not quite sure i understand y ou. If you type an url in the adress bar, it WILL load in the current tab, that is done by design. Do you have any example links openening in the same tab? This option basically mean that links that have target="_new" will open in a new tab, not normal links

This option basically > mean that links that have target="_new" will open in a new tab, not normal links i have the same problem on panther (10.3.9) with Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; fr; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4. all new link open in the same windows despite of the settings that say "open news links in new tabs". this feature works well with previous version. a+

I too am have the same problem, My pref's are set to open links in a new tab. This works for the first link, however; if I return to the original window and try to open a second link in a new tab, it overwrites the first link. I experimented and found that if I open a new tab from the menu bar and left it blank the tried to open a new tab from a link I could open the second link but in a new tab leaving the middle one blank...still.
