When I'm viewing a web page within the print preview window and I accidentally
click on a link on that page, opening a new "tab," and than either close the web
page that I was viewing in the print preview or click on the newly opened tab,
the print preview menu remain and there is no was for my to go back to the
normal browser menu. This is very frustrating when I'm doing research and have
made many tab and then I don't have all the great browser menu option of Firefox
and I have to restart the browser and open or re-research all the tabs I had open!
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Updated software
2. Uninstalled/reinstalled software
3. Tried the same on three other computers! (steps 1 and 2!!!)
Actual Results:
the problem remained
Expected Results:
I'd be nice if you couldn't open the tab(s) while view a page in the print
preview, or if the other tab(s) would have the normal browser menu when you
switched...?
I like I said in the steps I took to fix the problem, I've tested this
personally on a total of four computer, each of which were running Windows XP
Home SP2 with all possible updates, but different hardware configurations, and
software configurations (anti-virus, firewall, etc.).

Can you reproduce this in the latest nightly build?

I think this is probably a dupe of bug 127909 if this bug still exists in the
current trunk.

also, when hitting F5 (refresh) in print-preview FF returns to normal web-view
(and refreshing), but the print-preview-menu remains open _and_ cannot be closed
anymore.
restarting FF is the only way out then.
confirmed on FF 0.9-1.06 on several machines and systems

This still occurs in Firefox 1.5 Beta 1
It doesn't matter where the new tab actually comes from. Any new tab (or page)
that is opened while print preview is active, will create a new tab. The tab
acts as it would be a normal webpage. Closing the print preview dialog is only
possible if you switch back to "first" tab, which means the one you wanted to
print. If you close the dialog, all tabs are kept, even the ones you were
opening in the print dialog.
Can someone please mark this bug as a dublicate of bug 127909 ?
Thanks

I can confirm this bug for FF 1.0.7, too and I was quite shocked to come across
this _again_ since I think I have already looked for this bug a long time ago
(and it seems to have been around for quite a while: since FF 0.8 at least)
I tested what you said in the latest nightly (10/6/05), I could not reproduce
said results. Just to comfirm what Martijn Wargers said.

I've had this happen so I'm familiar with problem. However bug 127909 has changed so duping is no longer appropriate, plus others confirm WFM in nightly (as do I). marking WFM Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20051112 Firefox/1.6a1
if you can recreate the bug will a *nightly* trunk build for any of the products please cite url and build string, list the steps used and reopen the bug.
