I saw there is a big difference how this is rendered in trunk builds compared with 1.0. ON trunk it looks like in IE 6 But i can't tell if its fixed or not Please retest with a trunk build (can be unstable): http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/

The same problems with the lates build. It's well seen in the first (from the right) hebrew word in the chapter. After letter Aleph (which is for the number of the verse), there goes letter Bet with (you can see it in IE) dot inside and two dots below. But in Firefox, as well as in Deer Park, the dots are _near_ the letter, not inside and below. It all looks like Firefox is unable to use correctly (at least in RTL case) some of the 'combining' characters, i.e. character that must overlap with the previous one, modifying it.
Summary: the vowels in hebtrew text are displayed incorrectly → the vowels in hebrew text are displayed incorrectly

This problem is normally seen with justification, not non-justified RTL. See bug 60546 comment 77, also bug 297074. However, the Hebrew text at http://www.mechon-mamre.org/p/pt/pt01.htm is not justified, unlike many other pages at the same site, and I can't reproduce the problem there. Anton, can you still reproduce the bug with a clean profile on a trunk build?

This small file (I hope) illustrates the problem in a concise way. In each case, the "justified" and unjustified text should look the same (as it does in IE). Thanks!

I'm getting the same problem in FF 1.5, whether or not the text is justified.

Another problem with this even in Minefield. http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=561177 Is this bug still alive on or already dead (after about 18 months)?

Which version of Minefield? This bug still existed in the last alpha, but it is fixed in current trunk (by bug 367177)

The image in the thread was done with: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.9a6pre) Gecko/20070624 Minefield/3.0a6pre I don't know if this build has the new text frame or not.
