From all clients that have subscribed to 2 published calendars (eg.
http://calendar.server.com/private/name.ics) there seems to be something that is
causing relatively newer events to disappear. I suspect is has to do with a bug
when the missed alarms go off and the debugger crashes mozilla. Please help

Dale,
You haven't given a lot of info to work with. Are you sure it isn't the
same problem you reported in bug 294442? Can you say anything else that might
help pin this down? For starters, can you clarify, are ALL newly created
events not displayed or just random ones?

Hi there,
Apologies but it is similar to the previous bug i reported but very different in
the sense that the previous one the Calendar file did not have the END VCalendar
so the file was not closed prop...i ended the file like it should be and it was fine

This time around...i cannot trace what the problem is...no error messages
nothing...so its hard to say what exactly the problem is other than the events i
have mentioned already

It seems not all newly created but only certain events, mostly recent events
(ie: last couple of weeks) File size does not change that much so i am assuming
it isnt alot of events, nonetheless it is still very frustrating.
Dale,
Can you try to at least figure out if this is a display issue or uploading
issue? Try creating a new event that doesn't show and then open the calendar
file in another program and see if it's there. That might at least indicate
where to start looking more closely. Also, please double-check that the event
doesn't show up in ANY view. Sometimes events disappear from week/day view, but
still are shown in the multiweek and month views.
I dont think it is either!!
When we realise events have disappeared, we recreate those events and they
remain displayed in all. Also using Mozilla Thunderbird, Mozilla Firefox and
Sunbird. I tried the view changing as that was one of the first things mentioned
in previous bugs and still nothing.
Ive checked for improper characters in the *.ics files and nothing.

Regards

If I understand correctly, and the problem has disappeared, then I'm just going
to have to leave this as unconfirmed. It may have been caused by two people
accessing the file at the same time. If you are able to reproduce it at any
point in the future, please post another comment.
Hi ..me again
Boss is back from Europe and accesses the shared calendar this morning and BANG
some of the calendars events disappear.
He is using Mozilla Sunbird on MAC O/S Tiger.
Any ideas ??? Anyone

Any pattern at all to the events that did/did not disappear?
Nope just random new events that were added during the last week
Hi Guys,

I seem to be having a similar problem to this one. I have an apache server to which I publish 2 calendars. When I create a new event, on the odd occasion (not every time) events that are also scheduled in this calendar randomly disappear. I have not found any pattern and don't seem to have any errors. Re-adding these events generally resolves the issue, but I don't always check the events and may miss when they get deleted.
I can't reproduce on demand.

What version of Sunbird/Calendar are you using?
We are using Sunbird 0.3a1

It WFM at least in read-only mode.
I think we can verify this bug quite easy: on next litmus testcase day or qa-chat we should subscribe the same calendar and try to modify it (parallel).

Damian, if the simultanious writing is the problem it should be solved now by bug 287612. For ftp there's a seperate bug (bug 373430). I think however this is not the problem as there's no pattern in the disappearing. Glenn, do you (or anyone else) still experience this with the latest versions, you last comment was in december 2005? If not, I suggest setting to WFM.
Whiteboard: [qa discussion needed]
Since there is no current activity on this, and since the issue no longer occurs in the current codebase, we are setting this to WFM.

Reporter, if you can reproduce this bug using a current nightly or release please either reopen or add a comment to an already existing bug (if one exists).

Thanks.
