The green icon in the upper right corner of the window indicates that there are
updates for the extensions. for security reasons i had the options 'Allow sites
to  install sftware' disabled. the automatic update window just stalls. Nothing
indicating that i disabled it, but just trying to download the extension.  I've
had this problem for a couple of versions, but now i noticed that disabled
option.  And it worked. There should be an alert for that you need to enable
that option.
