Using up-do-date gentoo. No system updates between my upgrade from dpa1 to dpa2.

Here is the problem (see the attached files) : the default fonts used to render
pages changed between the two alphas. In the first one everything was smoooth
and clean, but in the second one, the fonts got distorted and look really
strange when used to the former ones.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use an up-to-date Gentoo
2. Compare slashdot.org rendering between alpha 1 and 2
3. See the difference !

Actual Results:
Bad fonts used instead of the "normal" ones used before.

Expected Results:
Keep my good old fonts which look so beautiful !

After some search, I realized that Mozilla was acting as if my package corefonts
(http://corefonts.sf.net) wasn't installed. Mozilla used the fonts provided by
this package as of Deer Park alpha 1, but now it uses other ones, which ones ? I
don't know. `xfd Arial` shows me the right one, but Mozilla doesn't. Maybe a
problem with 191919 - [Windows] Opentype fonts with CCF are ignored. ? I really
don't know, and I would appreciate if someone could install this pack of fonts
and tell me if they are used in dpa1 / not in dpa2.

Thanks :).
Summary: Standards fonts (e.g : slashdot.org stories) changed between deer park a1 and a1 → Standards fonts (e.g : slashdot.org stories) changed between deer park a1 and a2
I've noticed similar problems with sites that specify Helvetica then Arial (in that order) in stylesheets once upgrading to 1.5 RC2. For whatever reason, Fx 1.0.7 (and all other browsers I have installed) ignores Helvetica (despite it being installed on my system) and instead shows pages in Arial. Fx 1.5RC2 instead uses Helvetica, which looks abysmal at screen sizes when no anti-aliasing is enabled. I've had to remove Helvetica to get around this problem. What I can't understand is howcome Helvetica was always ignored (including by the current stable Fx) but is now used in preference to Arial. I suspect that many people who also have both installed will see the same effect. I'll attach screenshots to demonstrate.

No reply, INCO. Please reopen if you are seeing this in Firefox 3.5.2 or later in Firefox safe mode and a new profile with the latest plugins.
