Power fluctuation caused PC to restart Got error message saying that Personal
Address Book was corrupted and saved as ABOOK.MAB.BAK. How do you restore the
address book in intact form?

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1.found the .bak file
2. Tried to import into Thunderbird
3. File imported but without data

Actual Results:
I got depressed.

Expected Results:
The address book should not have gotten corrupted to begin with.
Bugzilla is not for support questions.
Please use the mozillazine.org Forums, The IRC channel or the newsgroups for
that.

Locate your corrupt abook.mab.bak file in your thunderbird profile (not
application directory). Create a backup for this file, open it with a text
editor and look if you can repair it.
Now overwrite the abook.mab which got created by Thunderbird.

-> invalid (support question)

actually, it's quite possible it's not corrupted at all, but was just locked for
some reason. See bug 299346. You could try shutting down, making a copy of the
current abook.mab, and then copy the .bak file over the abook.mab, and restart
thunderbird.
