User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.9) Gecko/20050711 Firefox/1.0.5 Build Identifier: version 1.0.2 (20050317) If a compose window is opened from the toolbar after launching Thunderbird but before launching other sub windows, an attempt to move the compose window will cause Thunderbird to crash. Any partially composed message will be lost. If you open another subwindow by double-clicking on an item in the Inbox then this behavior does not occur. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch Thunderbird 2. Click on "Write" icon in toolbar (Compose Window appears). 3. Drag the Compose Window by the window manager titlebar, and release Actual Results: All Thunderbird windows disappear and no thunderbird processes are left running. Expected Results: Remap the Compose Window in it's new location. using the default theme Slackware 10.1 Windowmaker 0.91.0 can't find the core dump :-( This occurrs in Thunderbird 1.0 and Slackware 9.1 too (any combination).

This works just fine for me on my Slackware Linux system. Slackware 8 is the base and I'm running the following mods: 2.6.14 kernel glibc-2.3.4 gcc-4.0.2 glib-2.8.5 gtk+-2.8.6 XFree86 4.5.0 Enlightenment DR 0.16.7.2 I've had no problems with moving composition windows with any version of Thunderbird, including 1.0.7 and 1.5c1.

I've gathered some additional info describing my system (Slackware 10.0): kernel 2.4.29 glibc 2.3.4 glib 1.2.10 gtk+ 1.2.10 X.Org version: 6.8.1 Window Maker 0.91.0 I have also tested with some additional window managers/environments: gnome kde xfce blackbox fvwm2 The issue seems to only occur with WindowMaker. I have not as yet investigated versions of Windowmaker other than 0.91.0.

Brian, does this still happen for you? (some compose and termination bug were fixed in late 05, early 06)
