User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8b3) Gecko/20050714 SeaMonkey/1.0a
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8b3) Gecko/20050714 SeaMonkey/1.0a

I'm Testing a GTK2 build of SeaMonkey.

On the "format toolbar" of Composer, and also on the "Formatting toolbar" of the
mail composition window, the font control buttons (Bold/Italic/Underlined,
alignment options) look exactly the same whether or not they are activated, so
it's impossible to tell their status.

I seem to remember the same thing being true in the Windows build when the
Windows Classic theme is being used, but not with the Windoiws XP theme. It
appears not to be theme-dependant under Linux though.

Reproducible: Always
what theme does this happen with?

Do you mean which GTK theme or which SeaMonkey theme?

It's the SeaMonkey Classic theme, and is true with all GTK themes I have tested,
as well as the Windows Classic theme.

I'm using the windows classic theme, zip build, and in Composer the fields B I
U, the two List options, the alignment options get white background when active.
Normal Background of the theme is grey, #c0c0c0 as seen in the colorpicker.

I just checked, and it's actually the Windows XP theme, not the classic theme,
that has this problem. It is still true with all GTK themes.
Activated buttons now show up correctly in SeaMonkey 1.0.1 with all Windows themes, but this problem is still present with all Linux themes. This is now a Linux-only issue.
Confirming bug, SeaMonkey trunk on Linux.
Classic theme: buttons look exactly the same
Modern theme: buttons "sink in" when selected, this state is hard to see.
