Please notify us here if these builds are *really* going to be the final bits,
as it is too much work to localize the builds to scrap them again in case a
newer build is used. Thanks a lot. :-)
In case these are the final bits:
As Marcia and Chase already noticed, the MacOS X binary is called "thunderbird"
instead of "Thunderbird". Are we (the localizers) allowed to fix this in our
handmade packages? After all, its only a directory name - but the effect would
be that users are less confused (and annoyed).

I'm very very sorry, I intended to post japanese bugzilla's bug.
Ignore above comment please.
Here we go with the big group grope: ;-)

First of all, the remainin de-DE package, for Linux:
http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.6/de-DE/thunderbird-1.0.6.de-DE.linux-i686.tar.gz
http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.6/de-DE/thunderbird-1.0.6.de-DE.linux-i686.tar.gz.asc

And now all other locales I did packages for. I used the chrome et al of the
approved 1.0.2 (or 1.0 for pt-BR) packages so there shouldn't be any issues. I
also did a quick test on all of them.
Furthermore, all packages are based on the en-US builds linked by Asa.

Why aren't localized builds on Mozilla.org yet?

Is this active support? What peoples in Europe etc.? I think that something
corrupt is here.

Looks like familiar situation to Mozilla Firefox 1.0.5
(https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=300028#c38). Peoples want
localised buils but we cannot publish these builds yet because these builds
aren't accept. This is very demotivation - again.

MoFo: If you want continue with situations like this, please say it. I leave my
work for Mozilla and i will go to work for another project where they will
support my work better.
Hello, I want to express my opinion, I agree with Pavel in comment:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=tb106l10n#c23
However, I will try to be constructive and propose solutions.
Catalan Thunderbird version have been affected, and also Firefox versions for an
oversight:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=300028#c53

Being realistic, if things continue this way, this is not going to improve.
With problems like these, localization groups must respond to press why this
happens and then what are we supposed to do? Put the blame on Mozilla
Foundation? That's a bad thing and a really shame, and all this may sadly erode
Mozilla image.
People in MoFo are overloaded with work and I think there should be more human
power to address these issues, or distribute this kind of responsability in a
suitable way.

Currently, some local groups are publishing 1.0.6 versions before Mozilla.org,
because they are the first who care for their users, and also, for their own
very image and of Mozilla.

So, I would like to propose that policy of publishing localized versions should
be changed. I think this responsibility may be put on affiliates such as Mozilla
World, Europe, Japan, etc. which may respond more rapidly and may be less
overloaded with work than some MoFo members.

If we do this, all we can gain and and we will be able to deal with localized
realeases in a less stressful way.

Best regards,
We published Firefox 1.0.6 in 28 locales simultaneously and the world in which
Thunderbird localizations will exist will be so much better on the trunk and 1.5
branch that you won't be able to tell the difference. For all of you who say
that things are not going to improve, where have you been? You are speaking
from uninformed positions -- the trunk work that Gandalf, Ben Smedberg, and
myself are putting in is obviously an effort to improve the situation.

We appreciate your understanding and hope you recognize how hard we are working
to make the situation better.
(In reply to comment #27)
> branch that you won't be able to tell the difference. For all of you who say

Of course I meant 'you *will* be able to tell the difference'. :)

FYI, I've been downloading Thunderbird 1.0.6 l10n builds for the past couple of
hours in preparation for putting them on the FTP site.
(In reply to comment #29)
> I've put Win and Mac builds on
I meant Win and Linux, of course.
Chase, it's stupid to ignore all the great work done by people like I you,
Gandalf or Ben. As you say, we all can see this and enjoy it, for example in
current Tinderboxen.
However, when I mean things do not seem to improve, I mean the way versions are
actually released. And it is really sad because people get angry and stressed
and it's unjust for all people who are involved; and indeed, just for a 'red
tape' issue.
Please, do not misunderstand me. I only suggest this particular aspect may be
improved.
Thanks for your work!

IIRC, MMx removed it due comment 21.

Can you please replace the one on the server with this one:
http://mozdev.sweetooth.org/thunderbirdnl/releases/1.0/thunderbird-1.0.6.nl-NL.win32.installer.exe

so Tb 1.0.6 NL shows up in the software list of windows (see bug 301815 for more
information).
