The maps produced by google at maps.google.com are just grey. No map
can be seen. The maps work just fine in Safari on the Mac but not
under Mozilla.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to maps.google.com

Actual Results:
the map is grey

Expected Results:
A slideable map should appear.

http://moon.google.com/

has a small moon map. six landing sites are marked and show up
as broken icons. clicking on an icon gives information about the
landing site, but the image associated with the information is broken.
Can you list any extensions you have installed or try it in safe mode or with a
new profile? I have a feeling that this is caused by an adblocking extension.

Thanks!! I looked around and saw in the html something about javascript.
Although there was no message about this on my screen, I went to the
Mozilla preferences. Under Advanced/ Scripts & Plug-ins
I had already checked Enable Javacript for Navigator.
But "Allow scripts to:" were all (??) off. I turned them on.
Now it works!! Problem identified.

What is the minimal set?

I turned off all of these:

Move or resize existing windows
Raise or lower windows
Hide the status bar
Change status bar text
Disable or replace context menus

and turned on this:

Change images

IT WORKS! Problem solved. You need to have in preferences
Advanced, Scripts & Plug-ins, that JavaScript can Change images.

Thanks for nudging me in the right direction!

This bug will help the next person who comes along, so it
was not a waste of time ...

I'll try to close this bug.
