Thunderbird 1.5 Same happened when one or more multiple e-mail accounts “Copies& Folders” settings changed from personal to global. Personal Sent and Drafts has been automatically deleted while settings are still directing copy of a messages and drafts to those folders. No error’s being displayed. Solution: Set “Copies and Folders” – “place copy in” and keep message drafts in “Draft” to EXISTING folders you want.
