User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4
Build Identifier:
My machine is set to auto log out but it is canceled because Firefox can't
close. Autologout retrys over and over again so when I come back over the
weekend I have hundreds of these dialogs warning me that tabs will be closed.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set OS X to log out automatically after 3 minutes
2. Openfirefox and a few tabs
3. Come back an hour later
Actual Results:
Multiple instances of the same dialog
Expected Results:
Just one instance of the dialog
Maybe related to Suite bug 236062?

Rob, to solve this turn off the close multiple tabs warning dialog. Do that as follows:
-Got to Preferences | Tabs
-Deselect the checkbox for "Warn when closing multiple tabs"

This does not solve the problem. Read the actual results and expected results section below.
The solution you provide will not stop logout. I want it to stop logout, I just don't want to have to cancel it 500 times if I come back from a weekend away, I just want to have one copy of the dialog.

Selecting one of the blank entries will bring up a the you are closing tabs warning and then selecting cancel will return me to the page, although I still can't go forward or back. Doing so one foreach each of the blank entries will remove them one by one and then everything works fine again until next time auto logout kicks into gear.

Reporter, do you still see this problem with the latest Firefox 2? If not, can you please close this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks!

I can confirm this behavior using Firefox 2.0.0.6 on Mac OS X 10.4.
To test:
1. Change your "Security" System Preferences to:
"Log out after 5 minutes of inactivity"
2. Open Firefox with two or more tabs
3. Make sure the "Warn me when closing multiple tabs" preference is set
4. Let your computer idle for five minutes
5. Let your computer idle for five *more* minutes
If you've waited long enough, you'll see a sheet warning you about the tabs. Closing it will show another sheet, same warning.
I don't see any obvious dupes, so, confirming...

This bug is part of a query for Firefox bugs that have Status set to NEW, but have version field set to 2.0 or older and have not changed in over 800 days.

If you still see this bug, or if it is still valid with Firefox 3.6.10 or a firefox 4 nightly build, please update the version field and steps to reproduce.

This is caused by shutdown being blocked by the dialog, so marking as a dupe of bug 309849.
