User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050721 Firefox/1.0+
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050721 Firefox/1.0+
If I leave gmail's Inbox page open for a while (or hit the refresh *link* within
gmail a few times) I notice that my email address at the top of the page seems
to get more and more bold, as well as all the text off the messages directly
below the email address. If you you hit the actual reload *button* in the
browser, the page goes back to normal.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to GMail Inbox
2. Click on Refresh *link* (within the page) 3 or 4 times
Actual Results:
Email address is "extra bold", as well as the text of the message titles
Expected Results:
Nothing (just displayed the page normally).
I tried this on a 20050721
Hmm... The last bit of text was cut off. Should be:
I tried this on a 20050721 windows build, and did NOT see the same behavior. My
guess is that this is related to anti-aliasing, as the text appears to be
multiplied against itself again and again.
Still seeing this Isaac? I don't but I'm using Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC
Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050724 Firefox/1.0+ 7450 Mac Community
Build, ElFurbe
Yes, I am still seeing this, though I noticed it doesn't happen until I've had
the browser open for a while (maybe 20 minutes? I need to measure that better)
and been actively browsing. I tend to have a few windows open with many tabs
open in each.
Some more clues: changing focus to the address bar or a form entry field (the
GMail search entry in this case) will make the page instantly redraw correctly
(just clicking again in the form field if it already has focus doesn't have the
same effect). Switching tabs will also make it redraw correctly, but switching
windows or moving another window around in front of it will not.
Ahh... Good clue: I just opened up a second browser window, and it draws
correctly there. BUT... If I open GMail in another tab in the original window,
that one has the drawing problem immediately. I think maybe you have to leave
GMail open in the same window for a long time?
BTW, this is using Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US;
rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050727 Firefox/1.0+ (Mac Community Build, Elfurbe). I see the
same behavior in the official nightlies.
hmmmm.... I've had a gmail window open for the last... oh... ~18 hours or so...
might it be a profile issue?
I am still seeing this in my usual profile, but I haven't been able to reproduce
it in a fresh one. Must just be something wacky in my profile. Closing...
