The same here (Windows XP) FF 1.5. With another useraccount it does not crash, but neither changing the profile to a new one nor reinstalling ff helps..

I have the same problem - doesn't matter how I download anything firefox always crashes. Started seemingly out of the blue after months a solid stability. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox but doesn't help. Win XP SP2, firefox 1.5.0.2

Having exact same problem, if someone finds a solution please do me a favor and email me at 1hott351@sbcglobal.net It's extermely aggrivating; first problem i have had with FF. Now i'm forced to use IE!!! >< version 1.5
I had instlled a plugin that had thrown a load of javascript into one of the config files in the FF directory, the javascript contained bugs and it made FF crash when downloading anything. I think the plugin started with X and provided an HTML editor inside text boxes. The only way I could fix it is by removing the offending script from the config file.

Unfortunately I cannot remember the exact detailsof the file of plugin.

Hope this helps!
