User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 Unfortunately, this happens sporadically. When opening a new page, via "right click, t" to open in a new tab, usually the tab is created and the data is loaded, but things like arrow-down or PgDn keystrokes still affect the original (still-viewed) page. Sometimes, however, the focus moves to the new page in the new tab that is not being displayed. Just now, for example, I created about four new tabs with pages to be viewed "later", each using a "right click, t" on the current page's links. The last <http://www.nytimes.com/2005/07/21/health/21records.html?ex=1279598400&en=65df5ef8b6ef3140&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss> captured keyboard focus, such that my PgDn keystrokes brought *it* to the bottom of the page, rather than the tab I was viewing. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce:
Just now, I used the mouse to select a different tab, and PgDn / PgUp continued to affect the page I just left. After Ctrl-T to create a new tab, and entering "bugzilla.mozilla.org" in the address bar, PgDn continued to affect that first tab.

Do you have the option set to load a new tab in a foreground tab? If so then this is a dupe of bug 249136.
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 Is this a dupe of bug 278527? I can confirm this behavior on Mac OSX 10.3.9 when CTRL+Clicking links into background tabs. This just started happening for me with Firefox 1.0.6 and it happens on both Windows XP and OSX.

(In reply to comment #2) > Do you have the option set to load a new tab in a foreground tab? I interpret the phrase "foreground tab" to mean a tab that is currently being displayed. I am unaware of an option related to that. When I do a right-click and "t" to "Open Link in New Tab", the new tab is created and the page is loaded into it, but the page I had been viewing continues to be viewed. According to my terminology, the newly created tab is in the background, or behind the current tab. Is this bug still a duplicate?
