User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6

In such a page as a Google search result page, when clicking a link with the
middle-button in order to open a tab, the tab won't always open as expected,
depending on the link :

-a link on a page won't open with middle-click for no understandable reason
-middle-clicking the same link again still won't open the link in a new tab
-another link may work
-reloading the page is likely to make the link that would previously not open open.

This bug is on 1.0.6. I never tried on 1.0.5 so I cannot tell about it, but on
1.0.4 or any previous release I never observed such a bug

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to some page such as some Google search result
2. By middle-clicking some links, sometimes you will see that some links won't

Actual Results:
Nothing (in case of a link that wouldn' open, which happens often but not that
often). The link won't open in a new tab, unless you use the contextual menu and
choose Open Link In A New Tab

Expected Results:
it should have opened the link in a new tab
Works for me. Maybe an extension is messing it up?
I am also having this problem, however it seems to be due to the Single Window
extention. Disabling or uninstalling it seems to fix it.

Single Window 1.4
FireFox 1.0.3
Correction, FireFox 1.0.6. FireFox 1.0.3 and 1.0.4 seem to be uneffected. I do
not have a copy of 1.0.5 handy to check.

yes, as I said before, that's new with 1.0.6. By the way, I've noticed that when
an image is a link, such as in Google Image search results, middle-click thing
rarely works, just to let those for who it works know.
Does this occur if you start firefox in safe mode?

no. i just tried this and in a Google Image search I could open about 50 links
from images without that rpoblem occuring. So it means there's an
incompatibility with on of these extensions :

DOM Inspector 1.0
Download Sort 2.0.3
downTHEMall! 0.9.4
ReloadEvery 0.5
DeviantLink 1.3
Forecastfox 0.7.9.2

if anyone got the similar problem, then post the list of your extensions so we
can see what extensions we got in common.
I believe download sort is to blame. Marking invalid as this is an extension
issue. Please contact the extension author about the issue.

More information: to reproduce, go to http://slashdot.org and from the main
page, the little icons that give a search for topics will reproduce the bug.

For a given story, it has "Read More" and X out of Y comments. The "Read More"
link will show the bug, but the X and the Y links will not.

I uninstalled the Download Sort extension, and it did not make any difference. A
point could me made on it being the Single Window extension (1.4) because if you
go into the extension and disable it, then the bug goes away, and if you
re-enable it, the bug is back. Using Firefox Safe Mode the bug goes away.

However, I have had the Single Window extension for several prior versions of
Firefox (I know that I used it on 1.0.4 and 1.0.5) with no problem, and then the
upgrade to 1.0.6 showed the problem.

My system: W2k fully up to date, Fx 1.0.6. If you really want my full list of
extensions, I'll post it up, but I have thirty installed (after Download Sort
was removed).
well, i disabled Download Sort and since I did that and reloaded Firefox, I
don't remember having experienced that bug again.
