tb does not accept other imap-folder-names than "draft" or "sent".
even if you choose an other name or existing folder tb is offering "draft" or
"sent" folders for subscription.
there is an other problem with "trash" folders: [Bug 301899]
Reproducible: Always

Hello
I have the same problem with Thunderbird 1.06 : I am using an IMAP server
(Oracle Collaboration Suite) whose folder names are "Deleted Items" and "Sent
Items" instead of "Sent" and "Trash".
If I subscribe to an IMAP account on that server, the Sent and Trash folders
appear on my server (and contains the sent and deleted emails once I use
thunderbird), and thunderbird gets a Deleted Items" and "Sent Items" folders
(that he doesn't use).

This bug still is a problem in non-English versions of TB. I use TB 17.0 on Win8 in German.
TB automatically translates Englisch folder names from the IMAP-server to German names in the folder list on my computer, which is very comfortable!
The IMAP-folder "INBOX" shows up as "Posteingang" in my TB
"Drafts" as "Entwürfe"
and "Trash" as "Papierkorb".
But for the "Sent"-folder the following problem seams to be a direct consequence of this bug: My provider names the "Sent"-Folder on the IMAP-server not "Sent" but "Sent Items".
It is possible to tell TB to use this folder correctly anyway, but what remains is that TB isn't able to transalte the foldername. So now my foldernames in TB read: Posteingang, Entwürfe, Sent Items, Papierkorb.
Of course that's no big problem, but it's "ugly". It is like if in an English version the foldernames in TB would be: Inbox, Drafts, Gesendet, Trash. Nobody would like that … ;-)
As far as I understand it after reading a lot of posts in a lot of forums and here in the buglist, TB wants the sent-folder to be called "Sent" on the IMAP-server. If this is not the case TB will create a folder named "Sent".
This is o.k. if your provider let's you delete the original folder i.g. called "Sent Items". But if the provider doesn't allow this, I have to use it. But then TB will not translate its name to "Gesendet".
Actual behaviour: TB perfectly translates the English foldernames Inbox, Drafts, Sent and Trash to German names. But it can't translate other names like "Sent Items" or "Deleted Items".
Expected behaviour: TB also recognizes other folder-names as i.e. Sent-folder and translstes them correctly
or
it at least let's me change the folder-name in TB manually without changing the IMAP-folder-path.
