User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 I cannot copy, cut or paste in the main mail client window with Mozilla 1.7.10 after a clean upgrade from 1.7.8. Copy, cut and paste works fine in Browser and all other features. This has occured on two different machines after upgrade to 1.7.10 (both WinXP boxes at home and work). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Try to copy and paste in a mail message window. 2. No paste after using mouse and or commands. 3. Actual Results: No paste. Expected Results: Pasted properly.
Reproducible with Mozilla 1.7.10, it seems that the copy/cut/paste commands aren't enabled in the first Compose window of the session. They start working again when I switch to another window and back.

It also only seems to happen when I open the e-mail client in Mozilla directly (as I often do). This is a temporary fix, until the problem is hopefully resolved in the next security release. I am not sure if this problems appears in Thunderbird or on other platforms with Mozilla as I do not currently use these versions.

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 I couldn't reproduce on Linux. Maybe a Windows-only issue?

(In reply to comment #5) > probably a dupe of bug 301917 Not necessarily a duplicate, but probably at least related. Yes, I forgot to mention that the arrow keys also do not work in the first mail window that is brought up.

Can those of you who were experiencing this bug please get today's branch build from http://mozilla.isc.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/latest-1.7/ and verify that this issue is indeed fixed by the changes at bug 301917? Thanks.
I could reproduce this bug with 2005071908 on WinXP (like in comment 2). I tested again with build 2005072706 (with the fix for bug 301917) and I can confirm that it now works for me! So this bug is fixed (and a dupe).
