First, thanks, all, for producing such great new products!

Problem is: Can't open new browser window from new message/compose mail menu in
Thunderbird. Ctrl-N give a new message, NOT a new browser window. Need an
equivalent to Netscape 4.76's "File | New | Navigator window" selectable from
its mail "Composition" (see File | New message). Ideally, this would open a new
browser window of the system's DEFAULT browser (be it Firefox or whatever). A
really thoughtful option would be to allow 2 options, one to open a new browser
window in Firefox AND one to open a new browser window in the default browser
(if it's not Firefox). If the latter option is chosen, it would be best to
either have both options appear selectable ALWAYS, or perhaps if Firefox is the
default, the other option should still appear, but grayed-out (with perhaps a
parenthetical message in the grayed-out area that "(Firefox is already your
default browser)").

This is a difficult one to get used to "not having". Your attention to this
would be much appreciated!

Aloha,

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Thunderbird
2. File | New message
3. There ya go! (option available neither on File or Tools menu)

Actual Results:
nothing (can't do desired action)

Expected Results:
allowed me to open a new browser window from mail composition ("Compose:...") window
BTW, I just noticed that this same fix needs to be applied to the MAIN
Thunderbird screen!

Steps are:

1. Open Thunderbird

Expected results: Allow user to open a new browser from this window (see
previous details)

What actually happens: Nothing (option not [seemingly] available)
...and what's worse, it seems that you can't open a new THUNDERBIRD window from
a "Compose:..." screen!!! Even if you try & re-open Thunderbird (e.g., from a
desktop icon), it simply thinks, "Oh, Thunderbird is already running [because
you have a "Compose:..." window open], so I WON'T [re-]open it!" I.E., you
seemingly can't open another main Thunderbird screen! (This is REALLY BAD!)

Steps:

1 - open thunderbird
2 - file | new | message
3 - close main thunderbird screen
4 - search for a way on the "Compose:..." screen to open a new main Thunderbird
menu (seemingly fruitless)
5 - try opening Thunderbird from a desktop(/etc.) shortcut (still no dice)

Yikes! You're left with an open new mail message, but NO WAY to open a new main
Thunderbird window until you send/close the "Compose:..." window.

Perhaps I'm missing something here, but if so, the solution should be more
obvious (e.g., "File | New view-mail page" [or some such]).

Thanks!!

Duping. Reporter is advised to (a) search for bugs before opening new ones,
(b) be less wordy describing them, and (c) limit bug reports to ONE PROBLEM.
