Crash Data

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 Browser crashes and closes all open windows (suddenly). Sometimes I get an error message, such as "KERNEL caused a general protection fault in module KRNL386.EXE at 0001:000075a8 or Explorer caused a general protection fault in module KRNL386.EXE at 0001:000075a8. Also, I receive a 'blue screen' with "Error: 0E:0028:C01B17D4" or "Error: 0E:0187:BFF8E64B" When trying to report this bug, the browser crashes and closed (suddenly) without any error message for at least 7 times (as for now) while typing. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.open browser 2.surfe or write 3.sudden crash, either with error message or without 4. trying to restart via FireFox icon on desktop 5. sometimes possible, somtimes need to restart computer Actual Results: browser crashed as mentioned above Expected Results: keep the browser open first I thought that bug might occure in connection with the yahoo toolbar. So I changed the browser profil to default, yet the problem occures even more frequently. I didn't install any extentions or themes.
the crashes you've listed are os related crashes, not mozilla crashes. we can't do much about them, and i'm not sure it's worth it for me to walk you through using windbg to chase them down. you're welcome to install talkback and see if that results in an incident, in which case you can copy the incident id here. otherwise you're probably out of luck and you should probably find out what sort of support microsoft or your computer vendor provides for your os.

Hi and thanks for taking the time to look at my problem !!! I've done as you advised me but I can't find the incident ID. I've saved the crash log though. Can you tell me where I can find the ID?? Furthermore, I have tried to find answers on the microsoft website; unsuccessfully........ So, any advice, or hint how to solve this issue would be very much appreciated! Cheers Mario
Sorry to bother you again, but now I've found the ID (actually 2 IDs since my slot machine has crashed again when visiting your site): TB7874961G second TB7874648M first Thanks anyway Mario

Okay, here we go..... 13 Mozilla crashes in three days (not to count the same number of crashes from FF) TB7961086G, TB7943075X, TB7911834Q, TB7902920K, (the latest crasd IDs, another 3 waiting to be transmitted. Their transmition failt because the transmision window crashes as well when trying to sent.) However, no crashes with the "good, old" IE 5.5 Any constructive ideas???? Cheers Mario
TB7911834Q looks like an unrelated crash (please file a new bug for it) if i'm *really* lucky, then Incident ID: 7902920 Stack Signature 0x023ac060 9ab74b1b Product ID Mozilla17 Build ID 2005071607 Trigger Time 2005-07-28 20:47:22.0 Platform Win32 Operating System Windows 98 4.90 build 73010104 Module URL visited User Comments Since Last Crash 103 sec Total Uptime 17351 sec Trigger Reason Access violation Source File, Line No. N/A Stack Trace 0x023ac060 nsHashtable::Reset [d:/BUILDS/tinderbox/Mozilla1.7/WINNT_5.0_Clobber/mozilla/xpcom/ds/nsHashtable.cpp, line 337] nsHashtable::Reset [d:/BUILDS/tinderbox/Mozilla1.7/WINNT_5.0_Clobber/mozilla/xpcom/ds/nsHashtable.cpp, line 322] nsDocument::SetScriptGlobalObject [d:/BUILDS/tinderbox/Mozilla1.7/WINNT_5.0_Clobber/mozilla/content/base/src/nsDocument.cpp, line 1708] DocumentViewerImpl::Close [d:/BUILDS/tinderbox/Mozilla1.7/WINNT_5.0_Clobber/mozilla/content/base/src/nsDocumentViewer.cpp, line 1158] nsDocShell::Destroy [d:/BUILDS/tinderbox/Mozilla1.7/WINNT_5.0_Clobber/mozilla/docshell/base/nsDocShell.cpp, line 3268] nsWebShell::Destroy [d:/BUILDS/tinderbox/Mozilla1.7/WINNT_5.0_Clobber/mozilla/docshell/base/nsWebShell.cpp, line 1259] nsXULWindow::Destroy [d:/BUILDS/tinderbox/Mozilla1.7/WINNT_5.0_Clobber/mozilla/xpfe/appshell/src/nsXULWindow.cpp, line 496] nsWebShellWindow::Destroy [d:/BUILDS/tinderbox/Mozilla1.7/WINNT_5.0_Clobber/mozilla/xpfe/appshell/src/nsWebShellWindow.cpp, line 1666] nsWebShellWindow::Close [d:/BUILDS/tinderbox/Mozilla1.7/WINNT_5.0_Clobber/mozilla/xpfe/appshell/src/nsWebShellWindow.cpp, line 371] nsWebShellWindow::HandleEvent [d:/BUILDS/tinderbox/Mozilla1.7/WINNT_5.0_Clobber/mozilla/xpfe/appshell/src/nsWebShellWindow.cpp, line 484] nsWindow::DispatchEvent [d:/BUILDS/tinderbox/Mozilla1.7/WINNT_5.0_Clobber/mozilla/widget/src/windows/nsWindow.cpp, line 1071] nsWindow::DispatchWindowEvent [d:/BUILDS/tinderbox/Mozilla1.7/WINNT_5.0_Clobber/mozilla/widget/src/windows/nsWindow.cpp, line 1088] nsWindow::DispatchStandardEvent [d:/BUILDS/tinderbox/Mozilla1.7/WINNT_5.0_Clobber/mozilla/widget/src/windows/nsWindow.cpp, line 1108] nsWindow::ProcessMessage [d:/BUILDS/tinderbox/Mozilla1.7/WINNT_5.0_Clobber/mozilla/widget/src/windows/nsWindow.cpp, line 3754] nsWindow::WindowProc [d:/BUILDS/tinderbox/Mozilla1.7/WINNT_5.0_Clobber/mozilla/widget/src/windows/nsWindow.cpp, line 1350] KERNEL32.DLL + 0x3613 (0xbff63613) KERNEL32.DLL + 0x248f7 (0xbff848f7) is the crash we're going to chase. i'm out of time for my day (it just started but i have other things i need to do), i'll see if i can find someone to look into this. the only other thing you could do is use someone else's build with symbols and windbg.
The last stack trace looks like bug 253973 or bug 200119.
(In reply to comment #7) > The last stack trace looks like bug 253973 or bug 200119. both of which are fixed. closing this bug, since Mario seems to be gone.
