Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6
Build Identifier: 1.0.6 Firefox for OS X

I have installed Firefox 1.0.6 on a new Mac Mini from Apple running OS X 10.4
Tiger. System has 1 gig RAM, stock video 32 meg ATI card, 80 gig hard drive,
SuperDrive (DVD burner bult in), and a 1.42 GHz CPU (fastest Apple offers on Mac
Minis). I have OS X Tiger 10.4.2 (latest update from Software Update in the Mac
menu). I believe this happens all the way from 10.4.0 to 10.4.2 of OS X.

When I have Firefox open, everything seems OK except if I minimize a window, I
cannot restore it by clicking on "Window" and selecting the appropriate window I
want to restore/open/maximize. It simply stays minimized. This happens
regardless of the URL I am on, even if it's www.google.com or any other site.
Besides this, Firefox seems to run fine on the Mac Mini with OS X 10.4 Tiger
(10.4.2 technically).

I have reproduced this dozens of times since 1.0.6 came out. It never has
worked, in fact.

Furthermore, I am the admin on the computer so it can't be a permissions problem.

Other apps restore to the pre-minimized state just fine, it only happens in Firefox.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open any URL in Firefox 1.0.6
2. Minimize the window the URL is open in.
3. Click Window, select the minimized window. It won't restore/maximize back to
how it was.

Actual Results:
It stayed minimized, didn't work.

Expected Results:
Restored the window to the size it was before being minimized, in the same
position on the screen.

I have given all the information I can think of. If you need more info let me
know. This happens regardless if other apps are running or not.
I submitted the bug from a Windows system running Firefox 1.0.6 - but the actual
system having the problem is a differeing machine. Please don't be confused by
the reported User-Agent I sent the bug report from.
Of course. The window restores if you have ANOTHER window open, but not if you've minimized your only window.

Ever confirmed: true
I cannot restore any of the minimized windows. All of them are still sitting in the dock whether how often I select the entry in the Window menu.

Checking other Apple applications shows me that they display a little diamond right before the window name when it is minimized. I cannot see it in Firefox. Isn't it a native menu or do we have to take care of it?

Which is the right component we can place this bug into?
Hardware: PowerPC → All
Summary: Firefox won't restore to full screen once minimized in OS X Tiger on Mac Mini → Windows are not restored via the window menu after they have been minimized
> Which is the right component we can place this bug into?

It might be either Cocoa Widgets or Toolkit (since a lot of the Dock code is in toolkit/xre/MacApplicationDelegate.mm). For the time being lets make it Cocoa Widgets.

I have the nagging feeling this is a dup ... or some other bug is a dup of this.
Component: General → Widget: Cocoa

Bug 262201 is the oldest one I know of.
Cannot find another one too. Thanks Phil.
