RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 303998

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8b3) Gecko/20050712 Firefox/1.0+
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8b3) Gecko/20050712 Firefox/1.0+

Some text input fields ("Tools">"Options">"General">"Home Page">"Location(s)",
or "Tools">"Options">"General">"Connection Settings">"No Proxy for:" for
example) do not scroll as you type, while others do (the search field in the
"view cookies" dialog for instance).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the options dialog
2. Go to some input field
3. type text until it no longer fits in the input field.

Actual Results:
The text is added, but not visible until you scroll manually with the cursor keys.

Expected Results:
The widget should be scrolling to display the most recently entered text and the
cursor.
Summary: some text input fields don't scroll as you type in → some text input fields don't scroll as you type in (Options Dialog)

I see this too.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true

I can confirm this too. Very annoying =/
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050908 Firefox/1.4

It is also the case that, if you enter a string of text that is too long for the
field, and then type somewhere in the latter half of the string, the view skips
back to the start of the field, even though the cursor is still where you left it.

To Recreate:
1. Enter a long string.
2. Use the arrow keys to access the end of the string.
3. Type something.

Actual Result:
You see the start of the field. Your text is added (or deleted), but you need to
use the arrow keys and scroll across the entire string to confirm that fact.

Expected Result:
You should be able to watch text modifications performed toward the end of the
field.
