User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050726 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050726 Every time I open Mozilla either for the first time, by pressing the Browse-The-Web button on my keyboard, by using Start / Internet, etc., the Location Bar where I enter the Internet addresses is at least semi-broken. I can type text, but neither Arrow nor Pos1, End, etc. keys work. It is impossible to mark text typed using the keyboard. The right click context menu shows all items grayed out except Delete and Select All, both items do nothing, even if text is marked with the mouse. If there is content in the clipboard, it is impossible to paste it. A workaround is to open a new window with Ctrl+N and close the old broken window. Opening a new tab does not help. This problem started occuring since I updated from 1.7.8 to 1.7.10 because of the security warnings. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start Mozilla, or with an already running Mozilla, open a new window using Start/Internet. a) 2. Type something in the Location Bar. 3. Try to navigate using the keyboard, arrow keys, Pos1, End, Ctrl+keys. b) 2. Try to paste the URI you have copied in clipboard into the Location Bar. c) 2. Type something in the Location Bar and try to right click / Select All. Actual Results: It is broken. a) Navigation with the keyboard doesn't work, the cursor stays where it is. b) Pasting doesn't do anything, the context menu Paste option is grayed out and Ctrl+V doesn't work. c) The text isn't getting selected. Expected Results: a) Navigation should work like it did in Mozilla 1.7.8. b) It should be possible to paste the clipboard content into the Location Bar. c) The context menu items should work as advertised. I'm using Quick Launch. I don't know whether this is at all related. The bug is Critical in that I can't operate the web normally anymore since it is only possible to normally use the Location Bar by opening a new window. Copying and pasting URIs in the Location Bar is mission critical for me. I'm losing data by expecting a paste action to work before I remember that Mozilla is broken.
Looks like a duplicate of bug 301917/bug 301968. Can you please get a branch build from http://mozilla.isc.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/latest-1.7/ and verify that this issue is fixed by the changes at bug 301917? Works for me with these builds now.
