RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 358095

People

(Reporter: jruderman, Unassigned)

Details

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050727
Firefox/1.0+

1. Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks...
2. Start dragging a bookmark.
3. Start holding Alt.
(Steps 2 and 3 can be interchanged)

Expected: "+" in a green circle, like in Finder and Safari and TextEdit.

Result: no visual change, even though dropping now results in a copy.

I don't know whether this is cross-platform (e.g. whether this bug exists with
Ctrl on Windows), whether it requires asking the OS (how) to display the +, or
whether it affects components other than Bookmarks.

can you confirm this is still valid on trunk?
I can confirm on trunk, but I don't think this is a Places issue. The copy mouse cursor appears as expected on Windows. This is apparently a Gecko drag-and-drop OS X issue that's been around awhile without much traction. Moving there and duping against bug 358095 unless anyone objects.
