Is necessary to open new window to retrieve new mail. Also mail disappears if I
close then re-open . I am losing my mail!!!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open mail inbox
2.open new window for inbox
3.

Actual Results:  
new mail appears after opening second window. Mail is then deleted when you
close window.

Expected Results:  
I would like to keep my mail!!

what version of thunderbird are you running?
and have you changed the view that you're in in the inbox from the default view,
i.e., show unread messages only vs show all messages.
appears jimi is gone so marking WORKSFORME.
