User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050727 Firefox/1.0+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050727 Firefox/1.0+ under other platforms, files that are downloaded and handled by helper apps are stored in the temp directory and then deleted when mozilla quits. in OSX, they are downloaded to your default download directory and are not deleted. this can drive users who use firefox on multiple platforms crazy. i agree with comments in bug 191239 saying that the non-OSX behavior can lead to data loss, but i'd prefer that behavior. there should be a pref to let the user choose which behavior they prefer.
