Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6

When I open a message that contains links to other windows, clicking on the link
will not open a new window. Nothing happens. This only has been happening
since I installed the latest Thunderbird (l.06)on my Windows XP. The email
program has always worked perfectly before.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open message
2.click on link
3.nothing happens

Actual Results:
link never opened

Expected Results:
Opened the link as usual.
I just upgraded from 1.0.5 to 1.0.6 to test this, and it is working for me, on
Windows 2000. (And it was working with 1.0.5 before the upgrade.)
Version: unspecified → 1.0
Possibly extension related. Do you see this in safe mode?

Hi

I just added myself to this record. Yes, it does fail in SAFE mode.
I migrated from Netscape 7.x to Firefox/Thunderbird for business reasons
and I would like to have the same happy experience(s) in Thunderbird.
The links to the outside world from inside a mail are indeed "dead".

According to the info my version is 20070326 (2.0.0.0)

Can I get an action plan please?

Thanks and regards,

Jack do you still experience this issue ?
I am having this same problem. I click on a link in tb and nothing happens.

I cannot find a solution and been on this site for a few days now searching.
There are oh so many dupes of this. The cause is that some default browser reg entry is hosed (for unknown reasons).

Reset your default browser (may have to set some other browser in between, then firefox again).
Jack & Luci, workaround in comment #6 resolve your issue?
I hope this can help you http://kb.mozillazine.org/Default_browser
