Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050731 SeaMonkey/1.0a Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050731 SeaMonkey/1.0a I just downloaded the 7/31 build, and found that I can not input Chinese character into the field. It seems to me, the individual input key was grabbed immaturally. In the Chinese input, the system and application have to wait till the completion of a given input keystrokeS, then, convert that input code to the appropriate Chinese character. However, the latest build grab each Chinese input keystroke and turns them into corresponding input character. So, I got the following: ㄏㄚㄏㄚ ㄌㄠ3ㄏㄨㄤ6ㄇㄞ4ㄍㄨㄚ rather than it shall be: 哈哈 老黃賣瓜 (Please note: these 6 Chinese characters were typed in TextEdit first, and then pasted to here. This "Details" field won't allow me to input Chinese characters.) Note: the 7/30 build did not have this problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. go to any website, and find a field that can input Chinese text. 2. start to input Chinese text by using a Chinese input method, such as Hanin. 3. The desire Chinese text won't show up, but the input codes were in the field. Actual Results: (Chinese input codes by Hanin) ㄏㄚㄏㄚ ㄌㄠ3ㄏㄨㄤ6ㄇㄞ4ㄍㄨㄚ Expected Results: (what I want shall be as:) 哈哈 老黃賣瓜

Is this bug still in latest builds? 2. Does the bug has only branch trunk? or not so? 3. Can you reproduce with Firefox, Thundebird and Camino too? For Japanese testers: Can you reproduce on your system?

It seems this bug is fixed with the latest 10/08/2005 builds of the SeaMonkey. I did not have a chance to check this bug in FireFox or others. For the past three months or so, I use Apple's Safari to enter the Chinese text.
