Clicking on an email link brings up Thunderbird instead of my default email
application. Thunderbird is installed but is NOT my default mail application. I
want Firefox to bring up my default email application like it is supposed to.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on an email link
2. Thunderbird comes up
3.

Actual Results:
Thunderbird Starts

Expected Results:
Default email application (Mozilla Mail) should start.
Probably a dupe of bug 303117 or whatever that gets duped to.

This should be working... have you changed anything in about:config such as
network.protocol-handler.external.mailto? Or could extensions be conflicing with
this? Also, how did you verify that Outlook is your default mail client?
Same here, similar problem.

Firefox 1.5 invokes Microsoft Outlook, even after I uninstalled this
mailer from my Windows Xp. I reinstalled my Netscape to make sure that
the Messenger is the default mailer, all to no avail.
I just saw the other comment and verified with about:config in
my Firefox 1.5: I do not have entry with a string "mailto" or
even "mail" for that matter!!

I also tested my Interner Explorer: Link "Send link by e-mail"
open the correct mailer, which is the default mailer.

This seems to be a real regression in Firefox 1.5, I will
probably revert to 1.07 until this version will stabilize.
I found so many bugs in redering already...

Marc, are you still able to reproduce with Firefox 2.0.0.14? Thanks!
