It's not until after I click on the bookmark when I reopen Camino that the favicon refreshes. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start Camino 2. Click on bookmark in toolbar 3. Sounds like he's crashing on quit every time, or something is preventing the necko cache from being closed cleanly. Or, perhaps they set the disk cache prefs to turn off the disk cache?
I only see this with https: sites (bugzilla, gmail), which I believe Simon mentioned in the bug where he fixed this originally; everything else reappears after a short delay after opening Camino (loading the icons from cache, no doubt).

Well I don't know what happened but the favicons are now persisting on Safari for me. I'm not sure what happened, but the problem may have been resolved when I upgraded to .9a2 but I didn't notice right away. Thanks to all who responded to this bug report. I hope I didn't waste too much of your time.
