The Problem appear first time after installed avast AntiVirus Software Home
Edition. But at the moment it seems that avast don´t(!) be the reason for the
problem because it is deinstalled and the problem appears also!

The Problem appears every time I want to download emails from a specific
mailbox. In this mailbox I have a email with really many (round about 100 I
think) recipients.

It looks like a buffer overflow or something like that.

I go in online status in Thunderbird, download the emails and exactly at this
time windows gives a blue screen and whole pc hangs up and I have to press the
"reboot" button.

Normal download (from a other account) is no problem.

Software which is maybe involved in this problem:
- Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro 2.7.492.416
- Avast 4.6.691 Build Jul2005

I will repeat that I think the problems source is a email with really many many
recipients.
But that is what I guess ...

My System (at the moment):
- Windows XP Prof. Ver. 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519 : Service Pack 2
- Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0.6 (with some extensions like quote collapse, quote
colors, enigmail, show SMTP Username, attachment tools, ...)
- Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro 2.7.492.5421 (416)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Thunderbird and work online
2. Receive a email with this many recipients from a normal pop3 mailbox
3.

Actual Results:
When TB try to receive emails it works for a moment (in a way TB want to
download the emails) and than windows produce a BlueScreen. Whole system stops
and hangs up. I have to reboot by using the reboot botton of the chassis.

But this BlueScreen only appear when TB try to download emails from this mailbox
with the email with this many recipients ( I think this is the problem).

Expected Results:
Normally the software have to download the emails from the pop3 server and put
it in the correct folder and close the connection to the pop3 server.

I can´t say the modules where the PC crashs when reproduce this bug because it
is often a other one.
First it was a module of the avast. Then I deinstalled it and than it was a
module of windows ...

I have open a thread at mozillazine:
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=301241&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=

There the problem can be discussed.
I try to save the email which was producing the Bluescreen of death (BOD) and
than maybe the bug can reproduced on ther computers!
If there's a thread on MozillaZine there's no point in the confidential flag.

Would love to get a copy of the mail that you suspect. If there's nothing
sensitive in it you can attach it to this bug. If there is you can zip it up and
attach it to a mail to security@mozilla.org -- please include this bug number in
the subject of the mail.

Do you know how many recipients are on the mail, and how many bytes are in each
of the To: and CC: lines?

No I don´t really know how many bytes are in the To: field. In the cc: (if I
remember correctly) I think 0!
The recipients must be up to 100.

But I have to report (to my shame :) that the bug is possible not a TB bug. I
have installed Outpost Pro on my pc when I reproduce the BOD. And now I have
save the email (online with the webmail frontend) in a other directory. So I can
send it to you.
But it is maybe a problem by handling the email in outpost.
It is maybe also one in TB that I can´t test (not without deinstalling Outpost).

But when I send it to you, you maybe can see if the problem appears also with
your TB version!?
I will send it now!
Hi.

I remember this bug.
It is (I think I really know it) is _not_ a TB bug!!!

I had also installed a firewall and it was / is a bug of a kernel file of this firewall.

I think it is something like a buffer overflow, because the recepients in that email were very much.
So this bug here is obsolet ..
