I can delete messages with the 'delete' key but this key is not under my fingers. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Highlight a message 2. Hit Ctrl-D 3. Watch nothing happen Actual Results: Nothing happens Expected Results: The message should be deleted

Summary: Ctrl-D key combination does not delete messages → Ctrl+D keyboard shortcut does not delete message
ispiked: let's use the oldest version of windows where this could be found (oe on w95). using all will really confuse matters. reporter, bug 54510 is a windows bug, did you get the number wrong? bug 242864 seems like a correct bug number. note that ifyou write bug ... instead of the way you did it, bugzilla will both linkified the number and hint about its summary when people ask their browser about the link.

Sorry. Bug 57510 is the one I meant, and thanks for the tip.

cc: dmose and bryan I think this is a bad idea. Suggest wonfix. Summary: 1. this was confirmed without comment 2. it's duplicative given the del key 3. given it's proximity to ctrl+f, ctrl+d might inadvertantly delete a message without user realizing 5. no votes in 2.5 yr 6. approving merely on the strength that it exists in outlook is ... bad

Agreed, we can make better use of shortcut keys than that. And then, Lightning already uses it for new event. ->WONTFIX
