Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050808 Firefox/1.0+ ID:2005080801. Both sites WFM (no crash) using WinXP.
I received a responce to my emial and I was told that this problem doesn't happen with winXP but I have a macintosh and not winXP. How can I read the sites in a mac
I can confirm that this occurs on my system as well, and is the major reason I cannot use Firefox/Camino on my Mac. Simply access any of the following: www.ynet.co.il www.tapuz.co.il www.maariv.co.il Watch the CPU share for the browser pass the 50% mark and stay there. See the spinning beachball of death. You may be able to recover, but it will be slow and painful. My system is Mac OS 10.4.2, Mozilla Firefox or Camino (doesn't really matter exactly which version, any will do really, but for the record Firefox is the 1.5 beta 1 and Camino is 1.0a1). This bug does NOT occur on Windows, it's a Mac only issue.
The problem is not unique to Hebrew or Israeli sites, but may be related to the way pages are coded on these sites. This file (no Hebrew) demonstrates the problem. On both Windows and Mac the CPU load goes to the high 90s because of this single Firefox thread. The difference is that Windows remains responsive but the Mac becomes lethargic. Hate to admin it, but maybe resource management is better on Windows. Neither IE on Windows nor Safari on the Mac use so much CPU to render this page.

Both the reported websites and the testcase make firefox use 80% of my 1.5ghz G4. Notice that the websites all have many flash animations, so this could be related to bug 285275.
Keywords: testcase
Looks to me like there's two problems here. 1. Dynamic HTML like in the sample file takes way too much CPU. This is not specific to Mac, but also happens on Windows. This is bug 142994 2. Multiple flash thingies cause Firefox (but not Safari) to hang. This is indeed bug 285275. I think this should be marked as a duplicate of one of them.

ok - marking as dup of bug 285275 as it seems the problem reported originally. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 285275 ***
