Recently the bug was fixed that allows it to set Thunderbird as the default mail
client on OS X. However, this setting does not propagate to iPhoto.

When running iPhoto and clicking on its Email link, it uses the mail program
that is specified in the iPhoto preferences.

The problem is that Thunderbird doesn't change this setting when it's makes
itself the default mail client.
In fact, the problem could be reformulated: Thunderbird doesn't even appear in
the list of available mail clients.

I'll attach a screenshot of the iPhoto preference window shortly.

Using OS X 10.4.2 and iPhoto 5.0.4, with a Thunderbird trunk build from July 29,
2005.

i'm filing this under "installer" for whatever that means under OS X.
I'm not sure if this is a coding issue or a Tech Evang Issue [with a twist]
towards Apple.
Posted this at an Mac OS X forum, and was provided with the following link:
http://homepage.mac.com/jacksim/software/imp403.html

Turns out this is an iPhoto problem, and the only known workarounds are patches
for iPhoto. That's not a road where we want to go, so that would make this a
"Tech Evang" bug, where we have to get an iPhoto update provided by Apple that
would integrate support for iPhoto.

Josh, would that be something you can take up?
No, sorry. But you can: radar.apple.com
reported as Apple Problem ID: 4215820.
Resolving my own bug as INVALID, "The problem described is not a bug." as this
is not a bug in a Mozilla product. If there are any new developments then i'll
post them here.

[ps: the alternative is to make this a Tech Evang bug, but i don't think it's
usual to have problems with third party applications listed as such?]
