Reply to a plain text E-mail containing 200 characters in a single line
as follows:

giheighpiethg ngiehrpighepi gieighpe igherhgpi3 gieqhgiegh9

Send E-mail to yourself. It will read okay. Disable HTML E-mail composition
and reply to this E-mail. Even when "Wrap plain text message at 255 charcters"
is selected the message is wrapped at 70 characters or so:

Can you past the original mail with all headers here? Do you use plain text
editor or HTML editor to reply (HTML editor has this toolbar where you can
select text colors, mark text bold, etc.)?

Hello, I am interested in ONLY using text composition of E-mails and
to reply in text mode. Unfortunately, there is a bug in all recent versions
of Mozilla which does not wrap round text properly. This is even when you
set the text wrap around to 255 columns.

Activated HTML composition and replying HTML is okay but HTML brings in
other annoying problems... primaryly the use of proportional spacing fonts.

Anyway, we are talking about text composition and so we need to fix this.

BTW: You can also reply with normal text in HTML Editor, as long as you don't
use any special formatting it asks you on Send if you want to send Plain Text or
HTML (or both).

Hi, I don't like HTML E-mail composer. There is a bug with the composer
for text E-mailer replies. Whiel its posisble to get around the problem
by enabling HTML composer when replying this brings other problems.

Firstly. I have to fight with the composer as its keeps changing to
proportional spacing. I have to end up highlighing the whole E-mail
and selecting fixed spacing.

Secondly, for HTML composer it sometimes screws up the text formatting 
when replying to somebody else's E-mail. No matter how I fight it it
cannot be fixed unless I go to text composer.

I really like to stay with text E-mail composer.

This sounds like its related. The original bug has been reported
for over two years. Is there any chance we will all get a fix soon?
