Thunderbird Detach Bugs:
            
            Detach single from main or email window (File..Detach..<Attachment
Name>.."Detach..." or ..Delete): nothing happens.
This is in the 12Jul build.
Setting to unconfirmed instead of new, as I figure this would have been noticed,
and wonder if it's unique to my Profile or something like that.

Order Received gets messed up. (Bug 288694 indicates this is probably a WONTFIX.)

Seems to not be an issue for me at least in 1.5rc1.  Though it still doubles IMAP messages when I delete the attachment.

The doubling (if one of the messages - the larger one - is marked for deletion) is , IMO, not a bug.    The normal way IMAP works is that deletion is a 2-step process:  When one deletes a message, it gets marked for deletion, but is only deleted when one actualy 'expunges' the folder.  The concept is to allow one to undo an accidental deletion.  (Some software makes IMAP work differently, but this is how IMAP is SUPPOSED to work.)  So when you delete attachments from a message, the logical/consistend thing is for the original message to be marked for deletion.  That way, the action can be undone - by undeleting the larger message...

BTW, not this bug is not 100% reproducible; sometimes actions on single attachments work; I'm on the lookout for a pattern.

[1] my tb info ...

[2] the detach specific attachment command FAILS completely when done thru the fie menu. specifically ...
file/attachments/[attachment-name]/detach

it does absolutely NOTHING. no dialog, no file saved, nothing.

[3] request HARDWARE be changed from "macintosh" to "all"
there doesn't appear to be any way to say "mac & pc"

[4] request OS be changed from "macos x" to "all"
again, no way to say "macos x & windows 2000"

[5] request VERSION be changed from "trunk" to "1.5"

Thunderbird version 1.5 (20051201); Mac OS X 10.3.9

 I see the same thing with messages in both POP and IMAP accounts in TB. It doesn't matter how many attachments there are, File -> Attachments -> /AttachmentName/ -> Detach... does nothing. Similarly, "Delete..." does nothing. File -> Attachments -> Detach All... does appear to function.

Use of the contextual menu allows deletion of single attachments. The contextual menu may be obtained by clicking on the attachment name at the bottom of the message window and holding down the mouse button. The Detatch and Delete items are active and work as expected.

This bug looks as if it might be the same as Bug 320185 which was filed against the PC version. Bug 320185 was marked fixed on the 5th of January.
