User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.9) Gecko/20050711 Firefox/1.0.5
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.9) Gecko/20050711 Firefox/1.0.5

Two graphics on this page are blackened (treeevil.jpg & treelove.jpg). All
have graphics been given .jpe extensions I did not intend. The graphics appear
to load correctly, but then quickly blacken. The graphic can be seen when it is
enlarged. It can be downloaded if I remove the .jpe extension. I do not
understand where the .jpe extension comes from or what it means. The problems
do not appear in MS IE. This condition means that visitors using Firefox are
not able to see my graphics so affected.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to the above URL
2. Scroll down the page to find the two "tree" graphics. If you move fast
enough you will se them blacken. If you scroll past the graphics, when you
return, they will be blacened.
3. Other graphics not yet affected.

Actual Results:
The subject graphics disappear, i.e., become blackened.

Expected Results:
Proprly display the .jpg graphics

I do not know if I correctly identified the component from the options you
provied above. Thge option I was looking for but did not find was "graphics
display."

> Now another graphic fails to resolve. I am concenred this bug is not unique
to my machine. There is now another graphic failing to resolve in addition to
the two graphics in my original report. You can find it at:
http://www.ot-mp.net/zdadsvisit3_05.html

It is the last graphic at the bottom of the page. Please answer my question
about why the .jpe extension is being added to my graphics when they are not
uploaded to the server and I did not intend or want this? Is the problem
uniquely assocated with my Firefox Browser???? Please give me some feedback.

Seems to me that ANY scaled jpeg graphic turns black with rc1/2:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-GB; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052912 Firefox/3.0
Debian testing.

Scale a jpg in a tab/window and it turns black or is garbage, zoom to full size and it renders fine. Could be a library issue I suppose.

I see his effect with:
http://intlstore.mozilla.org/images/home/mainimg1.jpg
when "View Image" is selected and the image is scaled (i.e: not full size).
