Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start downloading an update to Firefox. 2.Manually disconnect from the Internet. 3.Re-connect to the internet and try to resume Software Update. Actual Results: When I resume Software Update, Firefox starts downloading from the begining. Expected Results: Software Update should have resumed from where it had stopped when the connection was disconnected.

Pulling the cable to simulate a dropped internet connection gets a Software Update dialog: Completing the Software Update There were problems checking for, downloading or installing this update. Deer Park could not be updated because: AUS: No data was received (Please try again) (note: if download is paused, the plug pulled then download resumed the message is: AUS: Connection Refused) The only option is to "Finish" Retrying Software update begins the download from the start. note: Pause and Resume work as expected if the connection isn't broken.

Making this more robust would be nice but this probably isn't a blocker.

nsUpdateService.js needs to handle the download error more gracefully :-(

Just verified that background downloads do start from where the download left off and when using the UI it will fail.
