To start an official Latvian Firefox localization you need to prepare [1] Latvian locales files in CVS structure form and commit them to the Mozilla.org CVS server [1]. Therefore, you should have a CVS account. To get CVS account you need to fill a new bug and provide your ssh public key [3], send the form [4] and attach your files in CVS structure form - see bug 263726 as an example. Looking to our MLP pages, Martins Ketners <martins@linuxnet.lv> used to be working on Mozilla Suite. Try to contact him, maybe he has some files that you can use. 1] http://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox:1.1_Localization 2] http://lxr.mozilla.org/l10n/source/ 3] http://www.mozilla.org/cvs-ssh-faq.html#s2 4] http://www.mozilla.org/hacking/form.html 5] http://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Localization_Teams

Summary: Registration of Latvian (lv) Firefox localization → [lv] Latvian: Firefox
Hi, I'm a member of Latvian open source community. We have compleated localisation of Firefox [ http://linux.edu.lv/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=575 ] and would like to get our work into CVS. I have tried to contack Lauris, but he is apparently too busy to get to this work. I could take over his duties as a coordinator of Latvian localization efforts or help to do the necessary work to Lauris if he has time after all. How should we procede with this?
Blocks: 393197
I have mails from Lauris back in April, so that's not too long ago. Lauris, any suggestion on how we should proceed here? It's not really that this should be one or the other, too. We want one person that has time to respond quickly, and hopefully a team to lift all the tasks that are coming up, including Firefox 3 in the not so distant future.
As requested in bug 393197 adding Latvian firefox l10n files for review

Raivis, I think you should refer to this locale as lv, not lv-LV. Latvian is only spoken in Latvia AFAIK, so there's no need to mention the territory.
What is the status of this bug? Are we still waiting to hear from Lauris or maybe it is time to do something? I'm anxious to see Latvian (lv) localization.

Ok, I haven't been able to reach Lauris outside of the bug either. Let's go forward on the assumption that he'll be back some day. I chatted with Raivis, and we're going for the following: Raivis will be 'acting owner' of the Latvian localization. That doesn't come with any practical implication other than that both Raivis and I want to keep the door open for Lauris. Once he returns, we'll have all freedoms to discuss how to set up the Latvian localization team for Firefox. Thanks to Raivis for stepping up here, and for the patience. As for the localization itself, I did a technical review, via compare-locales, 'changed': 4015, 'keys': 838, 'missing': {'browser': 27, 'toolkit': 0, 'total': 27}, 'missingFiles': {'browser': 0, 'toolkit': 0, 'total': 0}, 'obsolete': {'browser': 1, 'toolkit': 0, 'total': 1}, 'obsoleteFiles': {'browser': 0, 'toolkit': 0, 'total': 0}, 'tested': ['browser', 'toolkit'], 'unchanged': 432} 89% of entries changed is the summary. The bookmarks.html file is funky, that might just be line-ending problems. But the links in there need to be fixed anyway, so I'll do that for my initial commit, and Raivis, could you please translate the bookmarks titles again afterwards? I'm going to revert the list of search engines to en-US, too, most of them are anyway. We should talk about a good set of searchplugins in a different bug, which I'll file in a minute. Raivis, I'll update the lv wiki page, you probably want to proof read that.
