User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.11) Gecko/20050728 MultiZilla/1.8.1.0b
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.11) Gecko/20050728 MultiZilla/1.8.1.0b

Previous versions (< 1.7.9) showed a short line "message has expired<...>, click
here to remove all expired articles". Starting from 1.7.9 mozilla just shows
empty white post, no text, no link. 1.7.10, 1.7.11 versions shows blank window too.
The same with new profile, but verified with only one news server (so it may be
specific newsserver problem, but it worked before 1.7.9). JS console is empty.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open MailNews
2. Subscribe to newsgroups. Wait some months ;-) (ok, better subscribe to some
*.binaries.* group, usually articles expires after few days)
3. Try to select non-existing message.

Actual Results:
Blank message pane

Expected Results:
Text "this article is expired<...> Click here to remove all expired articles" or
similar text.

1.7.10 on win2k works perfectly with the same newsserver. WinXP specific bug? Ot
maybe i'm wrong, 1.7.10 is not affected?
When i post a message and cancel it with another newsreader i get this with
Mozilla 1.7.10 and 1.7.11:
Error!
newsgroup server responded:no such article number in this group

Perhaps the article has expired

<ddnj19.v0.1@mcsmurf.de> (93)

Click here to remove all expired articles
so wfm here (at least the general Error message when a message is missing)
Version: unspecified → 1.7 Branch
For expired messages, I'm not getting the usual standard 'error; all I'm seeing
is a blank message body. This was observed in Mozilla 1.7.10, .11 and .12
on XPpro machine.

However, upon using 'Edit as new' on blank message body, the standard error
dialog to remove expired articles appears on original blank screen.
WFM in SM 1.1.9
