when the selected email header is changed, often the email content displayed is
not updated.
This can happen when:
1) The email folder is changed when the folder pane doesn't have focus. In this
case, the correct folder is highlighted in the folder pane, further clicking on
it doesn't update content pane, which continues to display an email from another
folder.
As well, the email title list is unchanged, as is the heading of the email module.
One must select a different folder (by mouse or cursor key) and reselect the
intended folder, to appropriately update the detail pane, title pane, and the
email module header.
2) When the LAST email in a folder is removed. (displaced or deleted.)
The detail of the last email continues to be displayed, even though the folder
is empty. If the folder is NOT empty, the correct email will be displayed.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select a folder, then select another folder, which is not empty.
2. Click on the title of an email in the folder, to display its detail in the
detail pane. This also ensures that the focus is outside the folder pane.
3. Click on another folder in the folder pane. (The already selected folder
will be greyed out.)
Actual Results:
The email module heading, the title pane, and the detail pane all reflect the
previously selected email and folder.
The newly selected folder is correctly highlighted in the folder pane.
Expected Results:
The email module heading, the title pane, and the detail pane all should
correspond to one of the emails in the newly selected folder.
If the folder is empty, there should be no email specified or displayed.
I included these 2 cases together because it seems to me that the causes are
closely related, and finding the cause of one will probably lead to the solution
of the other.
These problems are recent. (Probably since version 1.7.5.)
To reproduce the second case, simply select the last email in a folder, then
move it to another folder. The detail will remain displayed.
I classify it as normal because although there is an easy workaround, it can
lead to accidentally deleting a wanted email. Maybe it should be classified as
major or critical. (regarding case 1)
