User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.9) Gecko/20050712
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.9) Gecko/20050712

After a few hours use on two different WinXP platforms any opening of new
windows (popups, new browser window, any others) I get delays of 2 seconds
spiralling to 4 minutes plus (which is when I kill task). If I create a new tab
I'm fine, as long as the new tab doesn't produce a popup.

This started hapenning a few 1.7x releases back, started on my desktop, now
affecting my laptop too (different mail accounts).

Have all other browsers installed, most recent, a few months back, the new
Netscape (could be related ?).

It doesn't affect Firefox, on same machines.

Memory use doesn't appear blow up, currently exhibiting problem on this browser
instance, memory @ 66MB (home machine & laptop has 2GB RAM).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use normally, various windows/tabs, etc.
2. It slows down
3.

Expected Results:
Speedy all the time.
Your problem is probably fixed in one of the many Gecko 1.8 fixes included in
SM. So please try a SM release and report back by updating this bug
