I'm seeing a lot of bugs being minused for 1.8b4 that I feel absolutely should
be fixed for beta (things like crashes, leaks, known regressions in basic
standards compliance, etc).  It'd be nice if there were a way to request
blocking for 1.8 so that we don't miss the boat on them altogether.

This especially applies to bugs that _were_ 1.8b4+ until they got downgraded. 
Just because we're rushing 1.8b4 out doesn't mean we should leave them unfixed
in 1.8 altogether.

i'm physically able to do this, but currently i don't have a blank check to do 
so, if asa says ok on irc, i can do it. (note: it's about as fast for asa to 
just do it.)
